A Living Hope For A Dying World

March 31, 2013 Speaker: Ken Ramey Series: Daniel

Topic: Hope Passage: 1 Peter 1:3–9

Easter Sunday Service
1 Peter 1:3-9
Consider that in reality, we are a dying people living in a dying world. All of us, and everything in this world, lives for only a finite amount of time. But thankfully, there is more to life than our eyes can see. And, although we cannot see Him, we can have hope that there is a means by which we can be saved and a Savior who has rescued us from death and Hell.

In today's Easter message, Peter offers a song of praise to God and words of great hope to those who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ through His death and resurrection. Because Jesus died and rose again, there are SEVEN BLESSINGS that Christians will enjoy after their lives of hardship and suffering are over:

1.  We have been regenerated by a merciful God (v. 3a)
2.  We have a living hope based on a living Savior (v. 3b)
3.  We have a guaranteed inheretance reserved in Heaven (v. 4)
 4.  We have ongoing protection by an all-powerful God (v. 5)
5.  We have a proven, purified faith as a result of trials (vv. 6-7)
6.  We have an invisible, inexpressible relationship with Jesus (v. 8)
7.  We have a confident expectation of ultimate deliverance (v. 9)
If you are willing to love and believe in a person you've never seen or met, the person of Jesus Christ, then you too can rest in the security of knowing the only means by which you can be made right with God. The living Lord Jesus Christ will be by your side no matter what trial you face in this life. This is the greatest of blessings and the reason we can celebrate in happiness every day of our lives - not only on Easter!
