Seeing the Son

October 27, 2013 Speaker: Ken Ramey

Topic: Salvation Passage: John 9:1–41

Sunday Service
John 9:1-41
The story of Jesus healing the man who was born blind is a perfect illustration of what it's like for sinners to be delivered out of spiritual darkness into God's marvelous light of salvation. Throughout the story it became clearer and clearer to him who Jesus really was until finally He came into full focus as the Son of Man and he committed his life to follow Him as his Lord and Savior. The simplest way to grasp the meaning of this chapter is to note the progression in the blind man's faith in Jesus Christ.
FOUR STAGES OF FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST
1.  You may have heard of "a man called Jesus" (vv. 1-12)
2.  You may think Jesus was "a prophet" (vv. 13-23)
3.  You may consider Jesus "a man from God" (vv. 24-34)
4.  You must know Jesus as "the Son of Man" (vv. 35-41)
Thank God for opening your blind eyes so you could clearly see the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for those you know who are still blinded to the truth of the gospel (cf. 2 Corinthians 4:4).
