Psalm 3
Adversity is nothing new to mankind. In fact, it is something that we have inhererited since the first days of the fall. As such, any discussion of what God has to say about adversity is very timely - particularly for those of us who are believers and followers of Christ. As sojourners in this world, we know it is easy to lose our eternal perspective in the face of the everyday trials and challenges that come with living in a fallen world. If we lose that perspective and do not turn to God and His wisdom and promises, some trials can become like traps for which there is seemingly no escape. But God assures us that He will never give His children more than they can handle and that He is also protecting them and working all things for the good for all those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. (1 Peter 5; Romans 8:28). More importantly, God uses the trials we face in life to grow our faith, which is something that glorifies God and magnifies the name of our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Peter 7).
