THEME: No other book in the Bible provides a clearer presentation of God's grand strategy to save a world lost in sin than Paul's letter to the Romans. Typically, Paul began his letters by introducing himself, identifying his readers, and then giving them a brief greeting. But since he had not founded any of the Roman churches, nor had he ever visited Rome, he likely felt the need to establish his credentials and expand on his message. So he digressed to clarify his unique calling as the apostle to the Gentiles and elaborate on the gospel God had called him to preach.
